THE EVOLVING WORLD OF ENGLISH LEARNING

At National Geographic Learning we bring the world to the classroom, and the classroom to life. Our goal is to inspire learning, and for learning to become a way of living.

Over three days we’re organizing activities that focus on some of the changes taking place in the world of English language teaching and learning. We’ll look at the evolving needs of the English learner and teacher and visit important topics together. Our goal is to help English language educators to make sense of and navigate the certainties of change and the uncertainties of the future.

We want to explore ways in which learners and teachers can use English to make an impact in their lives, their community, and society in general. And we want to help teachers prepare for the reality of a post-pandemic world. In an age where facts and the truth are increasingly negotiable, we believe it’s important for learners to see the world as it actually is. Interesting, relevant, and fun content can be a vehicle to help learners to learn about the world, to think and express themselves – teachers can prepare them to do that using English.

We’d like participants to experience the joy of learning and inspire them to do the same for their students, empowering them as agents of change. We want them to leave with a better sense of the impact real-world content can deliver for their students and what a partnership with National Geographic Learning can do for their institutions.
